Video Analysis 101

Ever wonder why you missed a hide?  Have you falsed in a trial and don’t know why your dog “told” you to say alert?  Is your time management not what it should be to cover an area?  Are you working on a skill at home and need an eye to help you critique it? You may need to take Video Analysis 101!

This is an online one week class session to start out with.  It may progress to a longer session if the interest is there.

It’s a crazy time in this world for all of us but our dogs could use some work.  This week I will either present you with a challenge to set up and video at your house or you can send me a previous trial video or one from a practice session that you had.

Now is a great time to find out those answers that nagged at you of what was good or what went wrong.  After reviewing the videos I will get back to you with an analysis of what may have happened.   You will then be given homework to work on something for that specific video.

How it Works:

  • Each week you will send me up to two videos.
  • They don’t all have to be of the same problem but it would help to be similar to each other or samples of you working with a challenge that I present for you.
  • Please try to keep the videos no more than 3 minutes unless you have a longer trial video.

Video Information Needed:

  1. Approximate time of day.
  2. Weather conditions – was it cold hot, humid etc.
  3. Was it a rainy day – constant all day rain or just started raining for your search.
  4. What were the wind conditions – direction, strength, consistency etc.
  5. What type of area were you working in – camp, school, park, inside warehouse, etc.
  6. Date of search.
  7. Location of search (city, state).
  8. Hide locations.
  9. How long had the odor been out.
  10. Is this a trial video or from a practice session.

Initial Class Structure:

Cost $25.
One week class.
Up to two videos.

This is an initial structure, especially for those of us who may be technically challenged.  If it works out I will progress to possibly a video teleconference maybe through zoom or a go to meeting.

Contact me if you are interested (see form below).

Hope you are safe and healthy!  We will be back together soon, I hope!
